The Gay Spirit Radio Archive Project at True Colors, Inc in Hartford, Connecticut presents digital stories featuring materials from Gay Spirit – America’s longest continuously-running LGBTQ radio show. Recorded material includes interviews with individuals such as authors, entertainers, and activists who were and continue to be instrumental in social justice movements within the Greater Hartford area and nationally.  The Gay Spirit Radio Archive Project aims to create a digital archive focused on LGBTQ history and associate cultural heritage and promote multidisciplinary research in the fields of gender and sexuality studies and other disciplines.

Produced by Keith Brown, Gay Spirit Radio has operated out of the University of Hartford’s WWUH campus studio for the past 37 years.  Stories are divided into four themes: Civil Rights, HIV/AIDS, Youth Engagement, and Entertainment. Listen live every Thursday from 8:30PM – 9:00PM on WWUH 91.3FM.
